D2: Justify the Choice of Animation Technique for Frame Rate and Duration
D2: Justify the Choice of Animation Technique for Frame Rate and Duration
To
sum up, I used Adobe Illustrator to draw/illustrate my 2D vector graphics
for the animation. I used the pen tool, paint bucket tool, layers and
eyedropper tool to create these. I saved these in my Adobe Creative
Cloud and I copy and pasted them into my animation that I created in
Adobe Animate.
I used lots of key frames and tweened it to make the animation look smooth. I used the text tool to write any text and I changed the attributes of the text in the text object panel. I also used the alpha effect a lot to create fade ins and outs. I know that the average frame rate in 24fps and I tried to stick to this during my animation. The fade in and out helps the animation gradually move to the next scene without being abrupt. I did however struggle a little with the 24fps rule so this is something I would like to improve on if I do animate again.
Here you can see me editing my voiceovers. I placed my audio into Adobe Audition. First, I would delete the excess audio that I didn't need. I then used the Denoise option to remove the background noise from all of the audio. This left me with just my voice which is what I was trying to achieve. I would then use the parametric equaliser to lower any boomy parts of the audio. I wanted my audio to be clear so everyone can understand what information is being given to them.
The time limit for our animation was a minimum of two minutes. However, I went over this time limit and my animation is 4 minutes 8 seconds. This is still very short for an informational video; as long as all the information is conveyed, the animation achieves its purpose. I used 2D animation to create my animation because this type of animation is easy to look at and understand. I want my audience to be able to understand what the animation is trying to tell them so this is the best animation technique for an informational animation. I used 24 FPS because that is the standard FPS for TV and moving media. I would love for my animation to be on TV and on video websites, so this achieves the required fps (frames per second) for this. 24/25 FPS is an acceptable frame rate for media in the UK and Europe (Spain, France...) however, in America they use 30 FPS as their standard. This is only because America have higher electrical frequencies. FPS refers to how many frames there is in a second of footage. Both 24 and 30 FPS is suitable for social media and live streaming..png)
